Capital Projects Engineer at Butternut Box

Butternut Box is seeking a Capital Projects Engineer for their Zabrze location. The Capital Projects Engineer will be at the forefront of delivering engineering capital projects to ensure the successful build and development of their greenfield site in Zabrze; Sam’s Kitchen. The role involves project delivery for go-live and the ongoing installation of equipment and site services to finalise the project, building a 1,200T/week fresh pet food facility. The incumbent will manage everything from strategy to execution, collaborating across teams to deliver impactful results. Role Involves:

• Planning, designing, and executing capital expenditure (CapEx) projects.
• Developing equipment specifications and ensuring compliance.
• Leading troubleshooting efforts and process improvements.
• Managing all aspects of project delivery, including scope and budget.
• Preparing and presenting project proposals.
• Leading project teams and coordinating resources.
• Conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Providing regular updates on project progress.
• Facilitating effective communication among teams.
• Developing long-term strategies for site assets.
• Recommending upgrades for aging infrastructure.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Implementing and monitoring safety protocols.
• Providing training to promote a culture of safety.
• Using data analysis to identify process optimization opportunities.
• Exploring and implementing new technologies.
• Documenting lessons learned from projects.

Requirements:

• A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience managing capital projects in a manufacturing environment.
• A passion for automation.
• Project management expertise (APM, Prince 2, or equivalent).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Flexibility for travel to vendors and OEMs.
• Loves dogs.
