Job Description
xAI is seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Engineer in Training (EIT) to support the design, evaluation, and maintenance of electrical systems that power their state-of-the-art facilities. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, safety, and scalability of electrical systems to support mission-critical operations. The EIT will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contributing to solutions that meet regulatory standards and align with organizational objectives.
Role involves:
- Participating in design meetings for electrical systems.
- Assisting in conducting feasibility studies and developing specifications for system components.
- Supporting the installation of power distribution units (PDUs), UPS systems, cooling units, and other critical infrastructure.
- Assisting in managing maintenance schedules to ensure electrical systems operate efficiently.
- Contributing to troubleshooting power issues.
- Supporting analysis and forecasting of power needs based on current and projected IT loads.
- Working closely with senior engineers and team members.
- Supporting project management for infrastructure projects.
- Ensuring all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations concerning electrical systems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification required.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in data center operations or electrical engineering.
- Basic knowledge of data center electrical systems (transformers, switchgear, generators, UPS systems)
- Proficient with tools like AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, SKM
- Interest in project management and supporting large-scale data center projects.
