Tooling Project Engineer

Job Description

Xometry, a company connecting people with manufacturers, is seeking a Tooling Project Engineer. The candidate will manage tooling development projects, focusing on injection molding and other custom manufacturing technologies. This role involves tooling design reviews, vendor management, and ensuring quality and manufacturability standards.

• Managing end-to-end tooling projects
• Reviewing and validating tool designs
• Liaising with suppliers and tooling vendors
• Conducting Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews
• Overseeing tool fabrication, sampling, validation, and production ramp-up
• Working closely with Quality, Procurement, and Manufacturing teams
• Tracking project progress and identifying risks
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in tooling engineering, project engineering, or a related role
• Strong understanding of tooling design, materials, manufacturing processes, and GD&T
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and working with suppliers
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
• Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills
• Fluent English Speaking written and verbal communication is required

• Experience with digital manufacturing platforms or cloud-based PLM/ERP tools
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies
