Valon is seeking a Cash Management Specialist to focus on research, payments application, payoff processing, and other transaction-related activities. This role is integral to payment operations, requiring sharp quantitative abilities and strong attention to detail.Valon's mission is to empower every homeowner by creating a world where homeownership comes with ease, security, and financial know-how. The Loan Administration team ensures homeowners receive a first-class experience.
Responsibilities: - Ensure all cashiering functions are processed within compliance with Valon and investor and/or regulatory requirements.
- Review and post payments received from unidentified checks, bill pay, ACH, and wires.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of funds received for homeowner payments, suspense, foreclosures, bankruptcy, and loss mitigation funds.
- Conduct research on missing payments, reallocation requests, and payment histories.
- Process recast modification requests and payoff applications.
- Collaborate with other departments to complete specific payment applications and disbursements.
- Help inform product development by delivering servicing process/platform feedback to senior leadership.
Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1+ years in a cashiering or payments role at a mortgage or financial company preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and time management abilities.
- 1-2 years of mortgage servicing experience.
- Sharp analytical and math skills.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
- Must be available to collaborate and communicate in regularly held in-person meetings.
