Job Description
The Sanitation Manager role at a manufacturing facility involves providing direction and leadership in sanitation and plant hygiene. This individual will drive the strategy, development, implementation, and sustainability of a cleaning and sanitation program to meet regulatory, global, and corporate requirements related to food safety and sanitation. They will provide technical expertise to implement new technologies, processes, and procedures that reduce microbiological risk and product contamination. This role supports plant profitability by leading sanitation efficiency, including developing more efficient cleaning methods, standard work, training, cleaning validation, and identifying operational savings. This role will lead indirect reports.
Role Involves:
- Full ownership and management of Sanitation Program
- Developing and updating Sanitation Procedures
- Leading Sanitation Validation, Risk Assessment & Allergen Clean Validation
- Verifying SSOP’s are being followed
- Training sanitation personnel and operations
- Ensuring site Master Sanitation Schedule meets requirements
- Trending sanitation KPIs and reporting to stakeholders
- Accountability for Departmental stock & inventory control
- Performing employee performance evaluations
- Supporting Special Project Assignments
- Leading investigations for deviations in KPIs, Environmental Swabs, ATP swabs
- Leading cleaning events/activities during incidents and investigation
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in driving a robust and sustainable sanitation program in CPG manufacturing (5+ years preferred)
- Knowledge of manufacturing procedures
- Knowledge of all production equipment, site layout, sanitation, quality systems and preventive maintenance
- Sanitary Design Expert
- Familiarity with SDS, PPE, Chemical and Safety programs and requirements
- Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively
- Reading and comprehension abilities for proper use of chemicals
- Understanding of national Food safety initiatives
- Ability to work in a Team environment
- Proactive and self-starting
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
