Job Description
GitLab is seeking a Senior Developer Advocate to join their Developer Relations team. This role focuses on building connections with the developer community, particularly in India, and increasing awareness and excitement for GitLab. The Developer Advocate will engage with developers, provide technical content, and improve their GitLab experience.
Role Involves:
- Creating technical content (blogs, demos, videos, tutorials)
- Engaging with customers and community members through forums and events
- Consulting cross-functionally to ensure the developer voice shapes GitLab's direction
- Developing and executing strategies to engage developers through technical content
- Connecting with developer communities online and offline
- Delivering presentations, workshops, and demos
- Representing GitLab at customer and analyst engagements
- Gathering feedback and advocating for improvements to products and documentation
- Leading initiatives in collaboration with internal teams and strategic partners
Requirements:
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Experience with security and/or AI tools
- 5+ years of experience creating technical content
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to coordinate across teams and perform in a fast-moving environment
- Experience working autonomously and guiding strategy decisions
- Comfortable presenting to technical audiences
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
