Job Description
Altos Labs is seeking a highly motivated, creative, and collaborative Scientist to join their team in San Diego, CA. The Scientist will contribute to groundbreaking and innovative science, supporting internal and external collaborations to accelerate research activities. They will study the mechanistic basis of cell programming for health and rejuvenation, mentor graduate students, develop project-specific experimental strategies, and contribute to the dissemination of research results. The Scientist will also carry out research projects in collaboration with the Principal Investigator.

Role Involves:
  • Engaging in ground-breaking and innovative science.
  • Supporting and managing internal/external collaborations.
  • Studying the mechanistic basis of cell programming.
  • Mentoring graduate students.
  • Developing project-specific experimental strategies.
  • Contributing to writing and dissemination of research results.
  • Carrying out research projects in collaboration with the PI.

Requirements:
  • PhD and a documented record of professional achievement in the form of impactful publications.
  • Excellent computer skills, including advanced proficiency with Google apps, Excel, and Powerpoint.
  • Excellent professional writing skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • Demonstrated high productivity and ability to complete work in a timely manner.
  • Ability to organize work and set priorities.
  • Ability to focus on details to produce accurate, quality work driven by deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and with others in a team.
  • Strengths in dealing with ambiguity.
