The Account Executive at Smartsheet will focus on acquiring new government customers across Australian and New Zealand government organizations. This role is crucial for driving the company's growth in the ANZ region. The Account Executive will report to the Regional Director and play a pivotal role in delivering transformative outcomes to public sector agencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Selling Smartsheet solutions to government decision-makers.
  • Developing a deep understanding of public sector challenges and technology trends.
  • Presenting to senior executives across state and federal agencies.
  • Running end-to-end persona-based new business sales campaigns.
  • Qualifying inbound leads and proactively engaging in outbound outreach.
  • Developing and executing a go-to-market strategy for the government business.
  • Driving complex, value-based sales processes.
  • Building strong relationships with procurement teams.
  • Maintaining accurate records via Salesforce.
  • Exceeding quarterly sales targets and meeting outbound KPIs.
  • Attending industry events and government-specific workshops.
  • Collaborating with solution engineers and customer success teams.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in a complex enterprise SaaS environment.
  • Experience selling solutions to government organizations.
  • Expertise in engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • A background in building complex licensing and contractual proposals.
  • A solid understanding of compliance, security, and governance requirements.
  • Proven ability to respond to RFPs and RFIs.
  • A value-based sales approach.
  • High energy, resilience, and a collaborative mindset.
  • Strong prospecting, planning, and territory management skills.
  • Passion for working with innovative technologies.
