Senior Software Engineer I, Front End - Chart View (Remote Eligible)

Job Description

Smartsheet is seeking a Senior Software Engineer I, Front End - Chart View to contribute to the next generation charting and analytical experience. The engineer will collaborate with UX designers and product managers in a fast-paced environment. Smartsheet values product-oriented engineers who can own, architect, and implement features from start to finish.This role involves:

• Writing clean and efficient code based on product specifications.
• Creating and promoting modern web UI development.
• Developing modular, maintainable components for applications.
• Implementing features in TypeScript and integrating with back-end Kotlin/Java services.
• Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipeline implementations.
• Participating in code reviews and architectural discussions.
• Mentoring junior engineers.
• Developing services that can consume, process, and act on millions of user actions.
• Enhancing existing application code with new features.

Requirements include:

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• 5+ years of experience in at least one modern object-oriented programming language (Java, C#, Ruby, etc.).
• 2+ years of experience in SaaS application development.
• Experience with modern web technologies, front-end frameworks, and integrating with back-end services.
• Experience building Single Page Applications at scale.
• Experience writing complex asynchronous code that communicates with multiple services.
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Legally eligible to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis.
