Smartsheet is seeking a talented Software Engineer II to join their expanding team in Bulgaria. This is initially a remote eligible position through a third-party employer, with plans to transition to direct employment with Smartsheet in H1 2025. The Software Engineer II will contribute to the entire development lifecycle, from conception to release, while ensuring quality and scalability.

Responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to the development lifecycle, from concept to release.
  • Participating in system architecture discussions.
  • Implementing new features and enhancing existing ones.
  • Maintaining and developing service APIs.
  • Collaborating with systems engineers to troubleshoot infrastructure challenges.
  • Participating in quality assurance and defect resolution.
  • Working across multiple disciplines (front-end, back-end, test automation, and infrastructure).

The ideal canidate will have:

  • Experience with programming languages such as Golang, Java, C, or Node.js.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or React.js.
  • Understanding of Object-Oriented Design and Microservice Architecture.
  • Experience building scalable, high-availability applications.
  • Comfort working in Linux command line environments.
  • A degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
  • Legally eligible to work in Bulgaria on an ongoing basis.
  • Fluency in English.
