Staff Manufacturing Engineer, Powertrain

Job Description

Lucid Motors is seeking a Staff Manufacturing Engineer, Powertrain, to lead the design of new Powertrain equipment. The engineer will collaborate with various teams, including Logistics, Manufacturing Operations, Facilities, Product Engineering, and New Product Introduction, to ensure the proper design and installation of Powertrain equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of electric powertrain production lines and the ability to develop robust, cost-effective processes.

The role involves:

• Leading technical efforts for complex equipment engineering development.
• Developing high-yield, cost-effective processes for electric powertrain production.
• Preparing and procuring necessary items for assigned stations.
• Improving cross-functional working relationships and processes.
• Implementing and reviewing engineering solutions on manufacturing equipment.
• Utilizing problem-solving skills, including 8D, Six Sigma, and DOE.
• Using 3D modeling and simulation to validate equipment designs.
• Demonstrating knowledge of equipment, control systems, and machine coding logic.
• Collaborating with the layout engineering team to optimize Powertrain line layouts.
• Training team members on DFM principles.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s, Masters, or PhD Degree in Engineering required.
• Strong EV Powertrain equipment and process experience.
• 8+ years in Powertrain Equipment/ Manufacturing/ Process Engineering.
• Experience in automotive Powertrain equipment design/sustaining engineering.
• Ability to drive and lead initiatives in complex environments.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Catia and Delmia.
• 10% Domestic and International Travel required.
