Job Description
Lucid Motors is seeking an Automation Engineering Manager to lead maintenance operations in their Casa Grande, AZ, high-volume EV manufacturing environment. The role is responsible for ensuring maximum equipment uptime, optimizing OEE, implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and driving data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate has a strong background in PLCs, automation, data analytics, and leadership of large technical teams.Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a maintenance team of 200+ technicians and engineers.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive maintenance strategy.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Drive Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvement initiatives.
  • Implement Preventive and Predictive Maintenance (PM/PdM) programs.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and failure mode analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems and automation networks.
  • Provide troubleshooting expertise for PLC-controlled systems and robotic cells.
  • Partner with controls engineers to optimize automation processes.
  • Utilize data-driven decision-making to monitor equipment performance.
  • Implement and leverage Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Drive Kaizen, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field (master's preferred).
  • 10+ years of maintenance leadership experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Proven expertise in PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.), OEE optimization, PM/PdM programs, and reliability engineering.
  • Strong experience with data analytics, CMMS, and automation systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and scale large maintenance teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset.
