Job Description

Ethos is seeking a Data Scientist for their Risk Platform team in Bangalore. The Data Scientist will be responsible for optimizing risk assessment procedures, identifying actionable insights, and ensuring the platform remains at the forefront of automated underwriting and fraud prevention. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in a fast-growing startup within the life insurance sector.Responsibilities include:

• Designing, training, validating, and deploying models
• Building predictive models for automated underwriting and fraud prevention
• Conducting thorough data analyses to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies
• Collaborating with data analytics, engineering, and actuarial teams
• Embedding machine learning models into production
• Evaluating and refining model performance
• Staying updated with advancements in data science, risk modeling, AI, and NLP
• Providing data-driven recommendations to leadership

Qualifications:

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in data science or machine learning
• Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms and NLP
• Experience in designing, building, and productionizing machine learning models
• Expertise in Python and machine learning libraries/frameworks
• Experience with sagemaker and model deployment
• Ability to grasp domain-specific nuances quickly
• Collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn
