Senior Manager Life Underwriting

Ethos is seeking a Senior Manager of Life Underwriting to lead and mentor a developing team to success. This role is based in Bangalore, India. The Senior Manager will dedicate 50% of their time to case underwriting and will work with leadership to recruit, hire, and develop underwriting staff, both domestically and internationally. The role involves assessing quality and headcount, improving training programs, and developing performance management systems. Ethos is looking for someone with strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills, as well as a passion for improving the underwriting process.

Role involves:

• Case underwriting
• Leading team with passion and positivity
• Recruiting, hiring, mentoring underwriting staff

• Improving onboarding and training programs
• Developing performance management and quality control system
• Optimizing underwriting workflows

Requirements:

• 10+ years in Life new business underwriting
• 5+ years of experience in an underwriting leadership role
• Extensive knowledge of life insurance trends and new technology
• Sharp focus on execution and an owner mentality
• Data oriented decision making skills and great intuition
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
