EMC Simulation Engineer, Power Electronics

Job Description

Lucid Motors is seeking an EMC Simulation Engineer to model electromagnetic compatibility issues within the powertrain system. The engineer will be responsible for modeling components such as the OBC, drive unit, battery pack, and HV cables to ensure compliance with EMC regulations. The role involves developing and implementing cost reduction strategies based on simulation models, while maintaining EMC performance.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing PCB, component, and circuit modeling using simulation tools like ANSYS and EMA3D.
• Using CAD tools to create and simplify 3D models for EMC simulation.
• Collaborating with EE and ME engineers to debug EMC issues and optimize EMI filter designs.
• Conducting component and system-level CE, RE, RI, and BCI simulations.
• Performing magnetic components simulation.
• Studying shielding effectiveness and grounding strategies.
• Performing high-speed signal cross-talk and PDN decoupling simulation.

Requirements:

• BS (preferably MS or PhD) in electrical engineering or related field.
• Proven track record in EMI/EMC simulation software.
• Familiarity with automotive EMC standards.
• Proficiency in relevant simulation tools and methods.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Deep understanding of electromagnetics.
