Job Description
Lucid Motors is seeking a Sr. Engineer, Battery Cell Modeling to develop Multiphysics models to predict thermal and electrochemical performance of lithium-ion batteries. The ideal candidate will possess a creative and analytical mindset, be a quick learner, and detail-oriented, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize cell design and contribute to intellectual property development.

The Role Involves:
  • Developing Multiphysics models of lithium-ion batteries under extreme operating conditions.
  • Developing multi-dimensional battery models to predict cell behavior.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize cell design.
  • Reviewing academic papers and providing insight summary for team members.
  • Working with intellectual property team to patent your inventions.

Requirements:
  • MS or PhD degree in EE, ME, CS, Math, Physics, Chemistry, Materials.
  • Fundamental knowledge of commercial Li-ion cell structure and electrochemical/thermal behavior.
  • Experience in creating multi-dimensional structure and run CFD models for electrochemical/thermal systems.
  • Familiarity with battery testing equipment and test protocol.
  • Excellent communication skills and team-oriented attitude.
  • Comfortable with initiating and taking ownership of projects.
