Lucid Motors is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their HV Battery team. This role involves leading the design and development of state-of-the-art battery components and systems from concept to production. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create solutions that enhance Lucid’s position in the EV market.
Role involves:
Leading the design of core HV battery components, such as Battery Disconnect Units, busbars, plastic housings and isolators, harnesses, and connectors.
Optimizing designs for cost and performance.
Collaborating with electrical engineers, quality assurance, and manufacturing teams.
Designing prototypes, creating 3D CAD models, and developing test plans.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
Proficiency in 3D CAD (e.g., CATIA, 3DX) and GD&T principles.
Experience with manufacturing processes (injection molding, sheet metal stamping, die casting).
Experience with root cause analysis methods (8D, FMEA).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Hands-on experience with prototyping and shop tools.
