Job Description
Lucid Motors is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their HV Battery team. This role involves leading the design and development of state-of-the-art battery components and systems from concept to production. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create solutions that enhance Lucid’s position in the EV market.
Role involves:
- Leading the design of core HV battery components, such as Battery Disconnect Units, busbars, plastic housings and isolators, harnesses, and connectors.
- Optimizing designs for cost and performance.
- Collaborating with electrical engineers, quality assurance, and manufacturing teams.
- Designing prototypes, creating 3D CAD models, and developing test plans.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD (e.g., CATIA, 3DX) and GD&T principles.
- Experience with manufacturing processes (injection molding, sheet metal stamping, die casting).
- Experience with root cause analysis methods (8D, FMEA).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping and shop tools.
