Linux Systems Engineer

Job Description

Flow Traders is seeking a Linux Systems Engineer to join their Technology team in Hong Kong. The candidate will be responsible for building, improving, and maintaining Flow Traders' complex Linux environment. The person will collaborate with other systems engineering teams and the Trading Operations and Global Systems teams to ensure the support and scalability of low latency trading systems.

• Administer, upgrade, and improve server/workstation configurations.
• Provide operational support for Linux systems in the APAC region.
• Design, install, and administer the Linux platform, also to support stream and batch processing workflows and ETL reporting infrastructure
• Collaborate with Development and other IT teams to provision environments for new projects.
• Automate deployments and implement innovative improvements.
• Develop new solutions through research and development projects.
• Stay on top of new technologies and suggest/implement improvements.
• Work closely with global Technology teams to ensure infrastructure reliability and scalability.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.
• BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of Enterprise Linux distributions and networking.
• Hands-on experience with configuration management tools.
• Working knowledge in heterogeneous environments is advantageous.
• Solid understanding of storage, load balancing, server hardware.
• Proficiency with version control systems (preferably git).
• Scripting skills in Python or Bash.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skillset.
• Self-driven and the ability to work under pressure.
