Flow Traders is seeking a skilled Back-End Blockchain Engineer to join their Digital Assets Technology team in Amsterdam. The candidate will work in a hybrid role, collaborating with trading desks to develop scalable, low-latency solutions for decentralized exchange (DEX) trading.
The engineer will contribute to the architecture and development of high-performance, real-time trading systems for DeFi markets, encouraging the team to expand its blockchain expertise. They will develop and maintain on-chain and off-chain components, implement robust APIs, and integrate with DeFi protocols.

What this role involves:
- Developing scalable, low-latency solutions for DEX Trading
- Contributing to the architecture of real-time trading systems for DeFi markets
- Developing and maintaining on-chain and off-chain components
- Implementing robust APIs
- Designing and optimizing event-driven microservices
- Ensuring high availability, reliability, and security of blockchain-based back-end systems
- Collaborating with Quantitative Researchers, Traders, and Software Engineers
Requirements:
- BSc, MSc, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields
- 5+ years of commercial experience in software development
- Strong expertise in one or more back-end programming languages: Python, Rust, Go, Java
- Solid experience in DeFi development
- Strong blockchain knowledge
- Experience with smart contract development in Solidity and/or Rust
- Deep understanding of backend architecture
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure
- Understanding of security best practices in blockchain and back-end development
- Familiarity with Kafka, Redis, gRPC, and WebSockets
