Job Description

Flow Traders is seeking a skilled Back-End Blockchain Engineer to join their Digital Assets Technology team in Amsterdam. The candidate will work in a hybrid role, collaborating with trading desks to develop scalable, low-latency solutions for decentralized exchange (DEX) trading.

The engineer will contribute to the architecture and development of high-performance, real-time trading systems for DeFi markets, encouraging the team to expand its blockchain expertise. They will develop and maintain on-chain and off-chain components, implement robust APIs, and integrate with DeFi protocols.

What this role involves:

  • Developing scalable, low-latency solutions for DEX Trading
  • Contributing to the architecture of real-time trading systems for DeFi markets
  • Developing and maintaining on-chain and off-chain components
  • Implementing robust APIs
  • Designing and optimizing event-driven microservices
  • Ensuring high availability, reliability, and security of blockchain-based back-end systems
  • Collaborating with Quantitative Researchers, Traders, and Software Engineers

Requirements:

  • BSc, MSc, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields
  • 5+ years of commercial experience in software development
  • Strong expertise in one or more back-end programming languages: Python, Rust, Go, Java
  • Solid experience in DeFi development
  • Strong blockchain knowledge
  • Experience with smart contract development in Solidity and/or Rust
  • Deep understanding of backend architecture
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure
  • Understanding of security best practices in blockchain and back-end development
  • Familiarity with Kafka, Redis, gRPC, and WebSockets
