Job Description

Flow Traders is seeking a talented C++ Engineer to join their growing team in Chicago. The Software Engineer will play a critical role in the company's event-driven trading systems, which are designed to reliably handle vast amounts of data at ultra-low latencies. He will work in small agile teams, write efficient code, create new designs and maintain existing applications with a focus on low latency and stability. He will work closely with business owners, fostering collaboration and driving code re-use.

• Writes efficient code, creates new designs, and maintains existing applications with a focus on low latency and stability.
• Works in small agile teams.
• Owns a set of related applications and collaborates with business owners.
• Aligns requirements, implementation, and standards with the global C++ Engineering Team.
• Delivers core US roadmap items requiring real-time and/or critical-path software.

• BSc, MSc, or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent.
• 5+ years post-graduation professional C++ software development experience (proprietary trading industry preferred).
• Expertise in algorithms and data structures.
• Experience in parallel, asynchronous, and multithreaded programming.
• Interest in achieving maximum performance from available hardware and software.
• Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical business colleagues.
• Ability to travel to Flow Traders' offices around the world.
