CAE Specialist, Occupant Protection

Job Description

Lucid Motors is seeking a CAE Specialist to contribute to the development of luxury electric vehicles. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in evaluating occupant crash performance through simulations and providing design recommendations. This position is based in Newark, CA.Role involves:

• Executing simulations for occupant crash performance.
• Generating vehicle design recommendations.
• Assisting with building high-fidelity CAE models.
• Creating analysis reports and communicating program status.
• Participating in post-test teardowns.
• Conducting DOE/DFSS studies.
• Supporting the creation of standard work procedures.
• Leading/mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in vehicle occupant CAE.
• Knowledge of Global safety requirements (FMVSS / UNECE / China, USNCAP, IIHS, Euro NCAP, China NCAP etc).
• Strong analytical skills.
• Experience in root causing test performance and CAE model correlation.
• Ability to present technical issues and CAE results.
• Advanced user of Ansa, LS-Dyna, Meta, Primer, Hyperworks etc.
• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
