Staff Engineer, Developer Tooling

Job Description

Postman is seeking a Staff Engineer to join their ecosystem developer tooling team. This role is based in Boston, Massachusetts. The Staff Engineer will establish the technical vision for Postman's apps platform and developer tools, enabling a community of ecosystem developers to build app functionality. This position involves hands-on building of a 0 to 1 product, with the potential to lead a team of engineers in the future. The Staff Engineer will be accountable for the strategy, technical roadmap, and architecture of the platform, working with multiple teams within Postman to oversee the tools needed for ecosystem developers.Role involves:

• Providing technical leadership for the architecture.
• Prioritizing and creating a balanced roadmap.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Mentoring senior engineers.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong experience with industry standards in the ecosystem space.
• 10+ years of hands-on coding experience.
• 10+ years of engineering experience building end-to-end back-end services.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects.
• Exceptional problem-solving, design, and analytical skills.
• Experience designing highly scalable systems.
