Job Description
Postman is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their team and work on a groundbreaking product that leverages AI to accelerate software development. This role involves developing technology that simplifies coding complexities by generating fully functional service code from API definitions and business definitions. The Senior Backend Engineer will play a pivotal role in shaping the product’s vision, engaging with users, and driving adoption.
What this role involves:
- Applying and improving AI models for code generation from API designs.
- Implementing and optimizing AI-powered code generation pipelines and tooling.
- Collaborating in a small, fast-paced team with rapid iteration cycles.
- Researching and integrating state-of-the-art techniques for program synthesis and code automation.
- Participating in product discovery and iterative design cycles.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in AI and machine learning technologies, especially LLMs and code generation models.
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and Python.
- Solid understanding of APIs, RESTful architecture, and API design principles.
- Familiarity with modern backend frameworks, databases, and scalable service architectures.
- Experience working with data vectorization, embedding technologies, and agentic systems.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines.
- Deep product sensibility with a focus on impact and user experience.
