Senior Backend Engineer, Cloud Platform

Job Description

Postman is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join its Cloud Platform Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and building intuitive and powerful backend experiences that support the tooling needs of the Postman engineering organization. He/She will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create solutions that enhance the productivity and efficiency of internal teams.

What this role involves:

• Designing and implementing maintainable and scalable solutions.
• Creating high-quality, responsive APIs using modern backend technologies.
• Ensuring the technical feasibility of API designs and optimizing applications for speed and scalability.
• Collaborating with frontend engineers, designers, and product managers.
• Participating in code reviews.
• Developing tools and components to support other engineering teams.
• Integrating with backend services and APIs.
• Continuously improving the backend codebase.
• Staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of experience in backend development, preferably in a SaaS or cloud platform environment.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring, and Microservices.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling.
• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
