Sr.Design Engineer, Lighting Systems

Job Description

Lucid Motors is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead the engineering, design, development, and launch of lighting components and systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing parts from initial design to prototype phase and serial production. The candidate will work with cross-functional teams and align with other departments to guarantee successful product integration.

Role involves:

• Creating engineering studies and layouts within the vehicle.
• Designing components and products according to system targets.
• Managing parts from initial design to prototype phase and serial production.
• Creating and maintaining engineering documentation (TES, DFMEA, DVP).
• Coordinating testing and validation activities.
• Managing EBOM (Engineering Bill of Materials).
• Managing and tracking suppliers' activities.
• Designing CAD models and collaborating with suppliers.
• Verifying and approving final component and product design.
• Supporting vehicle prototype build activities.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of related engineering experience in the automotive sector.
• Proven experience in design/development of lighting devices.
• Knowledge of plastics, composites, and sheet metal.
• Knowledge of injection molding and plastic bonding processes.
• Experience with CATIA V5 and V6 (or NX, Unigraphics).
• Experience with DVP&R, DFMEA, and other technical documents.
• Knowledgeable in GD&T fundamentals.
• Willingness to travel.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals.
