Bitpanda is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Payments Infrastructure team. This role involves building and scaling solutions around Payment Service Provider (PSP) implementation and localisation as Bitpanda expands across Europe and globally. The ideal candidate will own end-to-end business-critical projects, tackle architectural challenges, integrate with third-party vendors, and collaborate with various engineering teams within Bitpanda.
Responsibilities:
- Designing and developing scalable, resilient, message-driven services using Java 21.
- Writing clean, testable code with 80% unit test coverage, and conducting end-to-end and integration testing.
- Optimising payment modules and services for reliability, maintainability, performance, and scalability using tools like Datadog and Grafana.
- Driving innovation by researching and adopting the latest trends and technologies in backend development.
- Mentoring junior developers, providing guidance and support for their career growth.
Requirements:
- Advanced knowledge and experience in software development using modern Java frameworks such as Spring Boot and Micronaut with Java 21+.
- Experience with both relational (Postgres) and non-relational (MongoDB) databases.
- Experience creating and maintaining public REST APIs with understanding of performance optimisation and scalability.
- Practical knowledge in using message-oriented middleware (Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ) in event-driven microservices hosted on AWS.
- Extensive background with CI/CD and familiarity with AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
