Bitpanda is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with Python expertise to join their team in Vienna. This role is pivotal in developing and maintaining the core trading infrastructure that supports a wide array of assets, including cryptocurrencies, stocks, metals, and fiat currencies. The candidate will be instrumental in shaping the architecture and engineering practices, ensuring scalability and high performance across Bitpanda's microservice ecosystem. This position offers a hybrid working model with the opportunity for remote work, alongside a competitive compensation package.
What this role involves:
  • Driving core technical decisions and shaping the team's vision.
  • Building high-performance, scalable backend systems using Python.
  • Designing and maintaining clean, testable code within a microservice ecosystem.
  • Leading the evolution of the event-driven architecture.
  • Tackling complex challenges in pricing, hedging, and asset management.
Requirements:
  • 6+ years of hands-on Python development experience.
  • Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, websockets, and network communication.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to influence technical direction.
  • Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and message brokers.
  • Bonus: Experience with AWS, interest in crypto/blockchain/stock markets, and DevOps infrastructure knowledge.
