Job Description
Bitpanda is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Python to join their Asset Pricing & Hedging team. This role is based in Vienna, Austria, and involves building and maintaining systems that handle prices and risk management for various investments, including stocks, crypto, ETFs, metals, and fiat currencies. The ideal candidate will drive technical decisions, build scalable backend systems, and contribute to the evolution of Bitpanda's event-driven architecture.
What this role involves:
- Driving core technical decisions for architecture and engineering practices.
- Building high-performance, scalable backend systems using Python.
- Designing and maintaining clean, testable, and maintainable code.
- Leading the evolution of the event-driven architecture.
- Tackling complex challenges in pricing, hedging, and asset management.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of Python development experience.
- Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, websockets, and network communication.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS).
