Easygo is looking for a Data Engineer to join their Data Engineering team in Melbourne, Australia. The Data Engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining a top-tier data platform that centralizes data from various sources to drive smarter decisions across the business. The ideal candidate will be passionate about tackling big challenges and shaping the future of data.

Role Involves:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable ETL pipelines using AWS Glue and Airflow.
  • Building and implementing secure and efficient data systems using AWS services and Terraform.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to transform data from the gold layer in the data lake to Redshift using dbt.
  • Monitoring and optimising data pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Documenting end-to-end processes, including ingestion, transformation, storage and governance.
  • Implementing data governance practices such as data lineage, classification, access control, and compliance with GDPR.
  • Building and optimising real-time data pipelines using PySpark, Glue Spark, and Kinesis.
  • Participating in peer code reviews.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 - 6 years of experience in data engineering.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, or PySpark.
  • Experience with orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow), version control systems (e.g., GitHub), and big data technologies.
  • Experience designing and implementing cloud-based data platforms, preferably on AWS, using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
  • Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
