Niantic is seeking a Technical Art Manager for the Pokémon GO team. This role involves leading a team of Technical Artists, planning the creative process from prototyping to production. The Technical Art Manager will collaborate with cross-functional partners, provide leadership, and advocate for their team.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Technical Art, Art, Game Design, and UX Design leadership.
- Build consensus with cross-functional leaders across Production and Engineering.
- Provide leadership and be the strongest advocate for the Technical Art team.
- Develop, mentor, and support team members.
- Define strategy, priorities, and resource allocation decisions.
- Build and manage team schedules.
- Anticipate and recognize potential production issues and recommend solutions.
- Foster Niantic’s culture and principles.
Requirements:
- 3+ years leading or managing Technical Art teams.
- Empathetic leader and supporter for the Technical Art team and workflows.
- Project management experience in PC, console, or mobile game development.
- Success in creating a collaborative culture.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Previous expertise in graphics focused areas of Technical Art.
- Familiarity with game art production tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hybrid environment.
- Experience working on cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
