Job Description
Rockstar Games is seeking a Senior Technical Artist to join their Leeds-based development team. The Senior Technical Artist will be responsible for developing new tools and technologies, improving pipelines, and managing workflows for game animation assets. This is a full-time, in-office role that offers the opportunity to collaborate with talented individuals on large-scale creative projects.
Role Involves:
- Creating and maintaining Animation tools and pipelines.
- Innovating and solving technical problems.
- Collaborating with Technical Artists and related departments.
- Providing support for the Animation team.
- Designing, developing, and supporting animation tools and pipelines in DCC and standalone contexts.
- Developing automated solutions to process data.
- Providing feedback during code reviews and mentorship.
- Working with Runtime and Animation teams to push engine features forward.
- Writing clear documentation for tools and workflows created.
- Helping problem solve and diagnose animation issues.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Technical Artist or similar role writing tools.
- Experience working through a full production cycle of a released game or equivalent.
- Experience mentoring more junior team members.
- A strong understanding of coding UI using PySide or PyQt.
- An understanding of the underlying math that 3d animation systems utilize.
- Foundational understanding in software engineering concepts and patterns.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Experience driving new ideas forward from conception to final product.
