Diligent is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their technical center of excellence in Vancouver. The candidate will collaborate with a team of skilled individuals to develop Diligent’s foundational platform services.
The Staff Software Engineer will be responsible for creating and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure microservices that power Diligent's SaaS platform. They will leverage AWS Serverless technology, primarily in NodeJS and TypeScript, to build event-driven, highly observable solutions with infrastructure as code.
The role will involve leading architecture discussions, presenting demos, and optimizing development and delivery experiences. The engineer will also collaborate with related disciplines to understand customer challenges and suggest improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement secure, scalable, fault-tolerant solutions using AWS Serverless technology.
- Optimize development and delivery experience to maximize team productivity.
- Lead in a collaborative environment, pairing, planning, and executing tasks as a team.
- Engage related disciplines to understand external and internal customer challenges.
- Mentor through code reviews.
- Lead through uncertainty and help the team navigate through ambiguity.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of professional experience developing and owning high-scale, secure cloud applications in an agile environment.
- 4+ years of experience with a variety of AWS services.
- Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including proficiency in database design and query optimization.
- Ability to develop readable and well-tested code that adheres to SOLID principles.
- Ability to contribute to a high-performing agile team and to product innovation.
- Passion for learning and sharing knowledge with others.
- Experience with AWS CDK, TypeScript, and React.
- Experience with Microservices architecture and Event-driven architecture.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing on AWS.
