Job Description
Placements.io, a company transforming digital media and eCommerce advertising operations, is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to join their growing engineering team in Taipei. This is a hybrid role, requiring three days per week in the office.He/She will be a key contributor to the design, development, and maintenance of Placements.io's advertising technology platform. The engineer will collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver scalable solutions.Role Involves:- Designing, building, and maintaining robust, scalable APIs and backend services.
- Collaborating with product managers, designers, and engineers to define technical specifications.
- Implementing backend logic to support AI-enhanced features.
- Optimizing system performance and resolving bottlenecks and bugs.
- Participating in code reviews.
- Conducting testing and debugging.
- Staying informed on backend and AI technology trends.
- Contributing to agile ceremonies.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong backend development experience.
- Proficiency in Ruby on Rails or a similar backend framework.
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred).
- Familiarity with frontend technologies (React.js, JavaScript, HTML/CSS) is a plus.
- Experience or interest in working with AI/ML-powered systems, tools, or APIs.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Heroku, or Google Cloud.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Experience in the digital advertising or martech industry is a plus.
