The Daily Beast is seeking a Breaking News Reporter to join their New York newsroom. The reporter will cover a variety of news topics, while also developing beat coverage. The Daily Beast needs someone with a strong writing style, news know-how, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

• Covering a wide range of news and stories
• Carving out beat coverage
• Producing stories that stay ahead of the competition
• Weaving interviews, anecdotes, and exclusive details into compelling narratives

• Two to three years of experience writing breaking news
• A voracious news diet across digital, linear, and social media platforms
• A strong, confident writer’s voice which aligns with The Daily Beast brand
• A team player, willing and able to collaborate with editors and other reporters
• A self-starter who can conceive and execute stories with impact
• Comfort meeting quick deadlines, and flexibility to work evening/weekend hours where needed
