Senior DevOps Engineer, Engineering Effectiveness at Cisco ThousandEyes

Cisco ThousandEyes is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their Engineering Effectiveness team in Lisbon. The team's mission is to empower engineers by providing software solutions, processes, infrastructure, and support for efficient code development and deployment.

The Senior DevOps Engineer will define partnerships with other engineering teams to deliver automated solutions for the end-to-end path to Production. They will design and implement system integrations with the internal developer portal (Backstage), and improve engineering processes, testing approaches, deployment pipelines, and operational procedures. The role involves working with production and reliability engineering teams to create tools and frameworks for application monitoring and alerting.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement system integrations with the internal developer portal (Backstage).
• Improve engineering processes, testing approaches, deployment pipelines, and operational procedures.
• Work with production and reliability engineering teams to create tools and frameworks for application monitoring and alerting.

Requirements:

• Excellent software design and development skills
• Expert level proficiency with automated build and release pipelines and related tooling (e.g., Github Actions, ArgoCD, Jenkins)
• Expert level proficiency with programming languages (e.g., Golang, Java, Python)
• Experience with container orchestration tools and platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, GKE)
• Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
