Job Description
Lucid Motors is seeking a Lead Supplier Industrialization Engineer for Battery Modules. This role involves leading the industrialization of innovative products within an aggressive timeline. The ideal candidate will collaborate with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to optimize designs and manufacturing processes, ensuring quality and flawless execution during launch. This role requires the candidate to guide upfront design development and work closely with suppliers to create new manufacturing methods and control strategies to achieve ambitious specifications.Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage supplier industrialization for Lithium Battery Module suppliers.
  • Support SQE PWT AZ Engineers in resolving Battery Module-related quality issues.
  • Coordinate supplier industrialization activities between DRE and GSM.
  • Develop and improve the APQP process with suppliers.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to select qualified battery module suppliers.
  • Support design reviews and ensure manufacturing needs (DFM/A) are considered.
  • Generate regular reports for senior management on SIE/Supplier performance.
  • Work with plant-level teams to contain supplier quality issues.
  • Investigate supplier quality issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform supplier assessments, audits, and site inspections.
  • Support system assembly builds and define incoming parts inspection procedures.
  • Drive and track all supplier-responsible ECRs and PCN activities.
  • Travel to suppliers as required.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience supporting Lithium Battery Modules and Packs in a Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering role.
  • 5+ years of hands-on supplier industrialization/development engineering (SIE/SDE) experience with Lithium Battery cells, module, and packs.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality standards and specifications used in battery module manufacturing.
  • Excellent analytical and technical writing abilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of quality toolbox (IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, DOE, DFM/A, GD&T, etc.).
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • BS in Engineering, MS preferred.
