Software Engineer (Back-End) - Ruby on Rails

Job Description

Stronghold Investment Management is seeking a highly motivated Back End Software Engineer to join its team in Dallas, Texas. The candidate will be contributing to building a cutting-edge technology platform. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in backend development, preferably with exposure to Financial Services, Real Assets (Oil & Gas, Real Estate etc.) or Fintech and expertise in Ruby on Rails, Python, Kafka, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Azure.

Role involves:

• Participating in the design, development, and maintenance of backend services and APIs.
• Working collaboratively with senior engineers, frontend developers, and UX/UI designers to enhance user experiences.
• Assisting in defining software requirements in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Contributing to code reviews and adhere to best practices.
• Assisting in managing data using both SQL and NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL and Redis, in cloud environments like Azure.
• Engaging in continuous learning to stay updated with industry trends and technologies.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience with foundational understanding of software architecture, data structures, and modern programming languages.
• Ability to analyze problems and collaborate with the team to find effective solutions.
• Careful and considered approach to coding, testing, and debugging.
• Willingness to quickly learn new technologies and apply them in a fast-paced work environment.
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative setting, including with remote team members.
• Takes responsibility for actions and maintains high ethical standards.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
