Federal Sales Engineer - IC

Job Description

Chainguard is seeking a Federal Sales Engineer to serve as the technical lead within their territory. This role involves managing all technical aspects of the sales process, including product positioning, demonstrations, competitive analysis, and value validation, while also nurturing relationships with customers, prospects, and partners.Responsibilities:

• Partner with the Public Sector sales team to develop and execute account plans.
• Collaborate with the Public Sector marketing team to enhance brand awareness and expand the pipeline.
• Focus on acquiring new customers and expanding the existing customer base.
• Take ownership of all technical aspects of sales opportunities, ensuring technical wins.
• Assist current customers with their growth initiatives.
• Work with customers to understand their software development, security, and deployment processes.
• Conduct product demonstrations and Proof of Value (POV) engagements.
• Participate in webinars, meetups, and conferences to grow the pipeline.
• Advocate for customer needs within Chainguard.

Requirements:

• Experience working with the IC side of the federal government.
• An active TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience with accreditation and security policies like NIST 800-53, NIST 800-215, or FIPS 140-2 (or -3).
• Significant experience in DevOps/DevSecOps, container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Podman, etc.), container vulnerability scanning, analysis, and mitigation, and AppSec.
• Ability to travel about 25% of the time.
