Multilingual Data Specialist - French at Dialpad

Dialpad is seeking a Multilingual Data Specialist to enhance its AI-powered customer communications platform, focusing on expanding AI features like transcription and sentiment analysis to French. The Multilingual Data Specialist will be integral to Dialpad's Data Annotation & Testing team, collaborating with NLP, ASR, AIR, and Product Management to refine customer insights from conversations. This role involves linguistic expertise, technical skills, and project management to tailor multilingual features to the unique characteristics of the target language while maintaining industry-leading accuracy.This position offers the opportunity to be based in Kitchener, ON, with majority remote work and occasional in-office days.What this role involves:

• Participating in design meetings to understand NLP & ASR data requirements.
• Translating data requests into project requirements.
• Designing and implementing annotation jobs in Labelbox.
• Training and providing feedback to annotators.
• Ensuring data quality.
• Providing linguistic expertise on dialects and phonetic annotation.
• Pre- and post-processing data using manual and automated methods.
• Coordinating with QA Analyst for multilingual model testing.
• Partnering with Applied Scientists & AI Product Managers.

Skills required:

• Bachelor's degree in linguistics or related experience.
• Native or advanced-level proficiency in English and French.
• 1+ years of experience with linguistic annotation.
• 0 - 3 years data analysis experience including SQL, and data cleaning & manipulation.
• 0 - 3 years experience with basic Python including Pandas.
• Experience with research and scientific literature reviews.
• Strong desire to work in a role supporting machine learning and data science development.
