Banking Operations Specialist

Adyen is seeking a Banking Operations Specialist to join its Reconciliation team in Amsterdam. Adyen is the financial technology platform of choice for leading companies like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft. The ideal candidate will support the smooth functioning of Adyen’s core payment and embedded financial product offering by optimizing reconciliation and operational processes within the core banking infrastructure.

The Banking Operations Specialist will collaborate with stakeholders across Merchant Finance & Treasury, Product, and Engineering to tackle operational challenges and strategic projects.

What this role involves:

• Improving internal banking operations, focused on managing the core banking system.
• Improving payment operations, such as monitoring bank transfers and integrations with payment market infrastructures.
• Monitoring inbound, outbound, and internal flows to ensure proper recording, reconciliation, and allocation in the core banking system.
• Communicating with banks and financial institutions to resolve ad-hoc issues.
• Providing internal stakeholders with insights into key financial and operational processes.
• Managing project lifecycles from start to finish.
• Partnering with technical teams to design and automate processes.
• Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

• 4-5 years of work experience in the banking sector, specifically transaction banking/payment operations or in mid-office, back-office operational teams.
• Proficiency in using and optimising core banking platforms and/or treasury management systems.
• Sound knowledge of either the European, UK or US banking and payment market infrastructures.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate detailed requirements into business solutions.
• Experience with process improvement, optimisation and/or automation.
• Ability to cooperate seamlessly with a global team.
• Ability to lead and manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to make decisions under pressure or in ambiguous situations.
