Adyen is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join its data solution team in Amsterdam. The ideal candidate will understand the business context and data needs, and excel in implementing high-quality data pipelines on Adyen's Big Data Platform.

What this role involves:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and craft effective solutions.
• Design, develop, deploy, and operate high-quality production ELT pipelines and data architectures.
• Integrate data from various sources and formats, ensuring compatibility, consistency, and reliability.
• Establish and advocate for best practices in performance, code quality, data validation, data governance, and discoverability.
• Ensure data is accurate, complete, reliable, relevant, and timely.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in data pipelines and systems.
• Optimize query performance and resource utilization.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
• Expert-level understanding of Software and Data Engineering practices.
• Proficiency in tools and languages such as Python, PySpark, Airflow, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, SQL, Git.
• Strong communication skills to articulate complex data concepts.
• Self-starter capable of independently recognizing opportunities, devising solutions, and owning projects.
• Experimental mindset with a ‘launch fast and iterate’ mentality.
• Experience in fostering a data-centric culture.
