Job Description
Adyen is seeking a Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer to join their team in Amsterdam. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and automating load balancers, DNS, proxies, and other critical infrastructure services. They will focus on reducing engineering operational toil through automation, increasing reliability, and aligning infrastructure decisions with the company's objectives.Responsibilities:
  • Maintain critical on-prem infrastructure powered by open source
  • Optimize load balancing infrastructure
  • Automate manual tasks
  • Collaborate with product managers and developers
  • Work cross-functionally with SRE teams and other infrastructure teams
  • Participate in architectural discussions
  • Maintain DNS and other critical services
  • Drive innovation and improvement of the Adyen Platform
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with open source load balancing solutions at scale
  • Experience managing DNS in complex environments
  • Proficiency with Linux
  • Understanding of distributed systems
  • Experience in driving and delivering complex projects
  • Great communication skills
  • Mentor to others
  • Future-oriented mindset
  • Strong expertise in managing Linux-based systems
  • Experience with open source load balancing and proxy technologies (HAProxy, Squid)
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, TLS)
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet)
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Python)
  • Experience with managing DNS solutions (PowerDNS, Bind)
  • Good understanding of system and service observability
  • Experience in system design
  • Experience in building and maintaining large distributed systems
  • Ability to plan, drive and deliver complex projects
