PlayStation is seeking a Network Operations Engineer to join their team in Australia. This junior-level role offers the opportunity to maintain and optimize a global network, contribute to its growth, and learn from experienced professionals. The engineer will participate in daily operations, use network analysis tools, develop procedures, and perform maintenance activities.Responsibilities include:
- Performing daily operations for a large, global network, including handling incidents, changes, and maintenance activities.
- Using network analysis tools to monitor network performance, identify issues, and implement improvements.
- Participating in developing policies, procedures, and technical reports.
- Performing scheduled maintenance activities, including weekends as needed.
- Participating in regional shifts to ensure 24-hour network coverage.
- Participating in an on-call rotation during weekends.
- Strong understanding of network fundamentals.
- Familiarity with service provider IGP implementations.
- Familiarity with core backbone routers, layer 2 and layer 3 switches.
- Familiarity using a distributed version control system (git).
- Familiarity with ISIS, MPLS, IPv6, and L2/L3 VPN services.
- Familiarity with MP-BGP routing policy in a global network environment.
- Familiarity with cluster networking/CLOS fabrics.
- Familiarity with router firewall policies.
- Familiarity with Juniper MX, QFX, SRX, and EX series platforms.
- Familiarity working with load balancer topologies.
- Familiarity with optical media and optical transport systems.
- Familiarity working in a globally distributed team and/or with IT Service Management (e.g. ITIL)
- Familiarity with Linux system administration.
- Familiarity with scripting languages like Python, Ruby or other languages such as Java, JavaScript, Go, etc.
