PlayStation, under Sony Interactive Entertainment, is seeking a Staff Service Reliability Engineer to join the Future Technology Group (FTG) in Berlin. This role will be pivotal in leading the cloud gaming revolution, ensuring console-quality video games are accessible on various devices. The Service Reliability Engineering team significantly contributes to the stability of the gaming service by influencing design and operational decisions.

The Role Involves:

  • Driving ongoing improvements in reliability and scalability.
  • Collaborating with SRE Management to define critical metrics and processes.
  • Influencing the architecture and implementation of solutions.
  • Mentoring SRE staff and representing SRE in the wider organization.
  • Creating and owning projects from inception to implementation.
  • Designing platform-wide solutions and providing technical leadership.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 9+ years of experience in Software Development, SRE, DevOps, and/or Linux Systems Administration.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with coaching and mentoring team members.
  • Proficiency as a Linux Production Systems Engineer.
  • Development experience in Python (preferred), Bash, Go, Java, C++, or Rust.
  • Experience with distributed data storage, NoSQL, data aggregation technologies, RDBMS, monitoring & alerting toolsets, Kubernetes and/or AWS, software distribution, configuration management, S/W performance analysis and load testing, capacity planning, disaster recovery, and statistical analysis.
