Job Description

Media Molecule, a part of PlayStation Studios, is seeking a Lead Programmer to join their Presentation team. The role involves leading the delivery of presentational technology for an upcoming project at their Guildford studio or on a hybrid basis. The Lead Programmer will be responsible for the architectural design and implementation of graphics, VFX, technical art, and UI. They will also provide team management, prioritize tasks, and champion technical best practices.

What this role involves:

  • Leading the architectural design and implementation of project-specific graphics, VFX, technical art, and UI.
  • Providing inspirational day-to-day team management, through coaching, support and a positive team culture.
  • Working with artists and designers to understand and realise their creative aspirations.
  • Partnering with producers to prioritise and schedule tasks and identify risks.
  • Championing and helping define technical best-practice within Game Technology.

Requirements:

  • Excellent C++ skills with the ability to write readable/maintainable code.
  • Strong debugging and analytical skills.
  • Good technical verbal and written communication.
  • Experience managing, mentoring and/or coaching members of a technical team.
  • Experience collaborating with other disciplines to deliver features and/or visuals to a high level of fidelity in commercially-released games.
  • Experience implementing, debugging and rectifying code in a multithreaded environment.
