Analytics Engineering Manager

Job Description

Carta is seeking an Analytics Engineering Manager to join their team in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. This role involves scaling a team of highly technical Analytics Engineers and leading them in developing flexible and scalable data models to simplify complex source data for internal analytics. The Analytics Engineering Manager will partner with Data Science teams to identify, document, and create cross-company core metrics and marts, as well as collaborate with Data Engineering teams on core infrastructure selection and procurement for various self-serve and data modeling needs. They will also partner with business stakeholders to enable consistent reporting on internal financial, accounting, and opportunity data.

• Scale a team of highly technical Analytics Engineers
• Lead team in developing flexible and scalable data models
• Assist with Product initiatives to bring data marts to customers
• Partner with Data Science teams to identify, document and create cross-company core metrics / marts
• Partner with Data Engineering teams on core infrastructure selection and procurement
• Partner with Business stakeholders to enable consistent reporting
• Establish testing framework for changes to the core models
• Identify opportunities and build solutions to help in simplifying operations
• Identify opportunities for providing self-service tooling to internal partners

Requirements for this role include a focus on balancing fast delivery with building for scale, a proactive approach to improving processes, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business users. Building relationships is a priority, and the ideal candidate will stay informed about the latest technologies, particularly in the context of automation and self-service. Experience with Airflow, DBT, Snowflake, and Looker is beneficial.
