Senior Software Engineer I, Valuations

Carta is seeking a Senior Software Engineer I to join their Valuations team in Rio de Janeiro. The candidate will play a key role in building new features, improving efficiency, and creating technical leverage for Carta's valuations products. This is an end-to-end platform for private markets. The role involves collaborating with business and engineering teams to navigate a challenging product space intersecting with Cap Table Management, Taxes, and Investor Products.

Responsibilities:

• Designing and coding highly available, secure, and scalable platforms and user experiences.
• Adhering to test-driven development (TDD) and maintaining high levels of code coverage and automation.
• Conducting timely and thoughtful peer code reviews.
• Leveraging logging and monitoring of platforms to improve observability.
• Instrument system performance and business metrics.

Requirements:

• 4-6 years of full-stack or frontend engineering experience.
• Desire to become a product domain expert and refine ambiguous product requirements.
• Experience working with SaaS products with microservices.
• Passion for some elements of our tech stack (Python, Django, React.js, Datadog, GRPC / GraphQL, Kafka, K8s, AWS).
• Excitement to work with stakeholders across engineering, product, business and marketing and own an initiative end-to-end.
• Strong communication skills.
• Eagerness to move fast while recognizing when to build for the future.
• Empathy and a belief in psychological safety and diversity.
