Engineering Manager (QA team) at SpotOn: Product

SpotOn is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and inspire their QA engineer teams in developing cutting-edge B2B2C products. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in both backend and frontend technologies, with experience in microservices architecture and modern web development frameworks. This role is critical in driving SpotOn's product development efforts, ensuring high-quality deliverables through robust quality automation testing strategies, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

What this role involves:

• Leading and mentoring software development in tests teams.
• Creating and enabling end-to-end test automation using Gherkin.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to shape product vision and strategy.
• Driving the adoption and implementation of automation test architecture.
• Managing the full software development lifecycle for automation testing.
• Fostering a culture of code quality and continuous improvement.
• Participating in architectural decisions and guiding technical discussions.
• Implementing and optimizing agile development processes.
• Recruiting, developing, and retaining top-quality engineering talent.
• Evangelizing the implementation of integration testing efforts.
• Driving data-driven decision-making by leveraging metrics and analytics.
• Collaborating with QA engineers to integrate Gherkin-based tests into the CI/CD pipeline.
• Promoting a culture of test automation.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• 4+ years of Gherkin experience.
• 4+ years of experience managing software engineering teams.
• 2+ years of experience working on B2B2C products.
• Demonstrated experience in testing microservices architecture and API design.
• Track record of successfully delivering complex software projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Extensive experience with backend technologies and microservices architecture.
• Proficiency with JavaScript and TypeScript or Python.
• Strong knowledge of frontend technologies including JavaScript, TypeScript, and HTML.
• Proven track record of leading and managing software engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Familiarity with AWS.
• Knowledge of agile methodologies and experience implementing CI/CD practices.
