Harbinger Motors is seeking a Senior Payroll Accountant to manage all aspects of payroll processing for a designated group of employees. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely payments while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local laws. What this role involves: - Processing bi-weekly/monthly payroll, including calculating hours, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
- Ensuring accurate processing of all payroll taxes.
- Maintaining accurate employee records.
- Processing and reconciling payroll-related journal entries.
- Managing payroll tax reports (941, 940, W-2, W-3, etc.).
- Responding to employee inquiries.
- Conducting regular audits of payroll data.
- Assisting with year-end processing activities.
- Staying current on payroll laws and regulations.
- Implementing and maintaining internal controls.
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in payroll processing.
- Strong knowledge of payroll principles and regulations.
- Experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, BambooHR) and HRIS systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
