Harbinger Motors is seeking a Senior Payroll Accountant to manage all aspects of payroll processing for a designated group of employees. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely payments while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local laws. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Harbinger Motors is an American commercial electric vehicle (EV) company focused on innovation in the medium-duty EV market.What this role involves:
  • Processing bi-weekly/monthly payroll, including calculating hours, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
  • Ensuring accurate processing of all payroll taxes.
  • Maintaining accurate employee records.
  • Processing and reconciling payroll-related journal entries.
  • Managing payroll tax reports (941, 940, W-2, W-3, etc.).
  • Responding to employee inquiries.
  • Conducting regular audits of payroll data.
  • Assisting with year-end processing activities.
  • Staying current on payroll laws and regulations.
  • Implementing and maintaining internal controls.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in payroll processing.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll principles and regulations.
  • Experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, BambooHR) and HRIS systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
