Job Description
Archer, an aerospace company, is seeking a Senior Automation Controls Engineer in San Jose, California. This role is crucial for supporting manufacturing equipment and ensuring smooth production. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage integrators to enhance equipment performance.Responsibilities include:
  • Supporting manufacturing equipment to maximize uptime.
  • Participating in first piece builds to characterize and develop critical process parameters.
  • Developing documentation for operator work standardization.
  • Managing procurement, construction, and deployment of new equipment.
  • Collaborating with IT, Production Engineering, EH&S, Quality, Operations, and Product Design.
  • Driving actions to improve equipment performance.
  • Developing process inputs to MES and SCADA production systems.
Qualifications include:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in medium to high volume manufacturing.
  • Direct experience programming and troubleshooting industrial automation.
  • Experience commissioning and improving equipment.
  • Proficiency with Beckoff, Allen Bradley, and Siemens PLCs.
  • Expertise with HMI and SCADA systems like Ignition.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time.
