Job Description
Archer, an aerospace company, is seeking a Senior Automation Controls Engineer in San Jose, California. This role is crucial for supporting manufacturing equipment and ensuring smooth production. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage integrators to enhance equipment performance.Responsibilities include:
- Supporting manufacturing equipment to maximize uptime.
- Participating in first piece builds to characterize and develop critical process parameters.
- Developing documentation for operator work standardization.
- Managing procurement, construction, and deployment of new equipment.
- Collaborating with IT, Production Engineering, EH&S, Quality, Operations, and Product Design.
- Driving actions to improve equipment performance.
- Developing process inputs to MES and SCADA production systems.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in medium to high volume manufacturing.
- Direct experience programming and troubleshooting industrial automation.
- Experience commissioning and improving equipment.
- Proficiency with Beckoff, Allen Bradley, and Siemens PLCs.
- Expertise with HMI and SCADA systems like Ignition.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to travel 20% of the time.
