Job Description
Archer, an aerospace company focused on electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, is seeking a Flight Test Mechanic (Avionics) to join their team. This role is based in Salinas, California.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain fly-by-wire aircraft.
- Perform aircraft maintenance, repair, modification, installation, and testing.
- Marshall, charge, preflight, and maintain aircraft for flight test operations.
- Help create and carry out Flight Test maintenance policies and procedures.
- Follow maintenance safety policies and procedures.
- Provide plans and status updates to the Flight Test Maintenance Manager.
- Provide input on the design and fabrication of novel air vehicles.
- Maintain aircraft maintenance records.
- Comply with Engineering Orders.
- Ensure calibration of test equipment and tools.
- Monitor expiration dates for aircraft parts and supplies.
- Work from technical materials and provide feedback.
- Meet scheduled timelines and deadlines.
- Assume duties as delegated by the Flight Test Maintenance Manager.
Requirements:
- NCATT AET or A&P Preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in the aerospace industry.
- 10+ years of aircraft maintenance experience.
- Previous Flight Test Instrumentation experience.
- Previous developmental or Part 23/Part 27 certification flight test maintenance experience.
- Hands-on experience with fly-by-wire aircraft and flight test instrumentation.
- Aircraft configuration management and conformity experience.
- Experience working with high voltage systems.
- Knowledge of wiring techniques and best practices.
- Ability to drive aircraft tugs, carts, and lifts.
- Collaborative attitude and excellent communication skills.
- Excellent planning and organization skills.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement activities.
